Step Into the Glow

Aurora held out her hand—not with urgency, but with trust.
Glimber hesitated. He’d seen circuits spark, plasma surge, even stared down a warp storm… but never something this quiet.
Around them, lanterns floated gently between glowing mushrooms and ancient roots.
The fox sat still, its eyes glowing with calm knowing, as if it had seen this moment before.
“You sure it’s safe?” Glimber asked, eyeing a mushroom that looked suspiciously like it might blink.
Aurora smiled. “Safe? No. But it’s worth it.”
And with that, the goblin who fell from the stars took his first step into the forest of light.
